Who did Whitney run over in EastEnders?
Viewers watched Whitney’s car career towards Phil, Ben, Callum and Kat last night as they shouted at each other in the street after Phil discovered Callum’s huge betrayal.
Whitney was then seen crashing into a member of the clan as they stood under the bridge but, while her target was clearly Ben, it’s unclear who she ended up hitting.
However, that hasn’t stopped fans speculating the victim will be Kat Slater.
One fan tweeted: “Whitney ran over Kat. LOL paused it once and saw it was Kat. Damn, they’re proper going in to ruining Whitney’s character more and more.”
Another added: “Wait, Whitney hit kat. Blimey. #Eastenders.”
A third convinced viewer tweeted: “#Eastenders looks like #Kat got run over by #Whitney.”
Why was Whitney involved in a hit and run in EastEnders?
Viewers watched Whitney begin to seethe as Ben and Callum’s wedding ceremony grew nearer last night in the soap.
Whitney then approached Gray, telling him she didn’t think Ben deserved a happy ever after when he stole hers.
Gray panicked and told Whitney there was no evidence that Ben had harmed Kush.
But grief-stricken Whitney didn’t listen and grabbed Gray’s car keys, determined to get her revenge.
What has Shona McGarty said about the hit and run?
Speaking about her character’s thought process when she got into the car, Shona Mcgarty revealed to Digital Spy: “Her intention was to drive to the wedding and gate crash it, and tell all the guests and Callum’s family exactly what Callum is marrying into. Not only because of Kush’s death, but to do Callum a favour.
“So when she sees the Mitchells on Bridge St, she’s so desperate and makes a snap decision, thinking I’ve got nothing to lose, this is an opportunity. And she puts her foot down, literally.”
Speaking about whether Whitney actually wants Ben dead, she added: “Whitney is just so fuelled by her rage and grief towards Ben and Phil, I don’t think she ever intended to do what she did.
“She just reacted in the moment but as reality sets in she realises that she has to grapple with the fact that she may have killed whoever she hit – the seriousness of what she’s done sets in.”
