A horrific explosion ripped through the Hollyoaks village

Who dies on Hollyoaks this week?

Hollyoaks began 2022 with a devastating explosion, ahead of an hour-long special due to air tonight (January 11, 2022).

While Channel 4 viewers will have to wait before finding out who survived the tragedy, many are feared to be dead.

Hollyoaks bosses and stars are remaining tight-lipped about who could have perished but fans are already investigating.

Saul (Chris Charles) is thought to have died in the explosion as he confronted Toby with the knowledge that he killed Lisa Loveday.

It is thought that Toby (who is also among the endangered characters) left Saul to die upon finding out.

He appears to not make it out of the rubble, leading viewers to think he could also have met his demise.

Another character thought to be in grave danger is Juliet (Niamh Blackshaw).

Juliet previously proposed to her girlfriend Peri Lomax (Ruby O’Donnell) but the pair were caught in the explosion before the latter could give a straight answer (although she initially rejected Juliet).

Characters who could be among the potential casualties include Martine Deveraux (Kelle Bryan), Jack Osborne (Jimmy McKenna), Sylver, Mercedes, Cleo and Cher McQueen (David Tag, Jennifer Metcalfe, Nadine Mulkerrin and Bethannie Hare).

Toby’s sister Celeste Faroe (Andrea Ali) is also thought to be in a critical position.

Left for dead in the rubble by his stepson Bobby, Sylver’s life could also be hanging in balance.

What happens to Sylver McQueen?

Sylver has left his wife Mercedes, fearing that she may cheat on him again.

Mercedes was previously unfaithful with Romeo Nightingale.

Sylver returned to Hollyoaks in an attempt to save his family.

Unfortunately for Sylver, he is caught in the explosion at the Salon de Thé de Marnie.

Trapped in the rubble, Sylver was hoping to find help following the disaster and was relieved to find his stepson Bobby among the survivors.

However, when he tried to plead with the boy to tell someone where he is so he could be saved, Bobby turned his back on him.

Is Bobby leaving Hollyoaks?

Bobby has been troubling viewers of the programme as he has shown a mean streak, similar to his serial killer grandfather Silas.

Silas (Jeff Rawle) left Hollyoaks in 2011 but briefly returned before leaving the village again in 2021.

Fans are convinced that Bobby could be taking after his grandfather when they spotted him playing chess, a game Silas was rather fond of.

But when it comes to his future in Hollyoaks, secrecy comes first.

Actress Bethannie Hare has teased that Bobby’s behaviour could tear the McQueen clan apart.

“If Cher found out Bobby had lied, she will never be able to forgive him”, the actress told The Mirror.

“It’s very dark. For someone so young it’s such a dark thought to do that I think. Well it is anyway, but especially for a young child to do that.”

Who will survive the explosion? Find out in the Hollyoaks hour-long special, airing tonight (January 11, 2022) at 6:30pm.
