Why is Kym leaving Coronation Street?
Speaking on This Morning, the actress explained to Phillip Schofield why she will be parting the ITV soap after 14 years.
She said: I just thought Id quite like to try my hand at something else. Im always one who loved a bit of a challenge, and so, there you go.
I just, you know, it comes a time when youre part of such a huge show and you play that character for so many years, she later explained.

What is Kym doing next?
Talented Kym has a busy year ahead after landing a new TV show and theatre role just days after announcing her exit from the cobbles.
According to her IMDB profile, Kym will star as Angie Dyer in a new comedy The Loss Adjuster in 2020 alongside a cast of stars including Luke Goss and Joan Collins.
But for now Kym is leaving the cobbles to be a serious TV detective and investigate romance fraud for a new BBC1 documentary.
The actress is hosting For Love or Money which examines the terrifying world of romance scammers.
The five-part investigative series follows the duo as they expose the scammers conning online daters out of thousands of pounds.
Kym has explained that the project is a personal one as a victim of identity fraud herself.
She told The Mirror: This series has been a real eye-opener.
It was relatable to me as, in the past, I discovered that my identity had been stolen so a scammer could use it.
I feel really passionate that this series is going to stop people in their tracks and really analyse who they are talking to online.

When does Kym leave Coronation Street?
Speaking on This Morning, Kym confirmed that she knows when her final scenes will air but teased: I do now, probably cant say. But its soon, coming up very soon.
[It feels] a bit weird, she added. Im going to be very emotional on my last day, for sure.
But more recently Kym revealed on her personal Instagram that she had officially finished filming on the set.
She wrote: Over and out…..Michelle Connor has left the building…what an amazing 13/14 years I have had…Heres to new beginnings!”
Coronation Street has confirmed that Michelle is set to get her revenge on cheating Robert on their wedding day.
Will she pull off a victorious exit from the cobbles after jilting Robert at the altar and scamming him out of the bistro?
Viewers will have to tune in to see when exactly the character leaves as exact details are being kept under wraps for now.
Will Kym be coming back to Coronation Street?
When Kym first announced she would be leaving the ITV soap after 14 years on the show, fans were left fearing her character would be killed off.
But speaking on This Morning, Kym confirmed that Michelle wont be exiting the soap in a coffin.
When Philip asked her if her character would die, she replied: “No. The door is open so thats good.”
Fans will be delighted with the possibility of her character returning one day – but with nothing confirmed as yet, viewers will have to wait and see.
