Kim is about to get a nasty shock in Emmerdale when her ex-lover, Graham Foster, reveals that her son Jamie provided the police with the evidence that sent her to prison.

What was Kim Tate in prison for?

During her first stint in the village, Kim. whos played by Claire King in the ITV soap – was at the centre of quite a lot of criminal activity.

Amongst her misdemeanors was faking her death by hiring a lookalike prostitute to drive around pretending to be her. She returned a few months later which caused her husband, Frank, to have a heart attack. She watched on cooly and didnt help him.

Later, on the brink of financial ruin, she and new husband, Steve Marchant, plotted to steal a horse and sell it. Kim then framed Steve for the theft and he was arrested and charged.

When Steves trial came around, the police started wondering if Kim was involved and started asking questions. Knowing she had to flee, Kim was pleased to find that Frank’s son Chris had the money from the robbery, which shed hid in Franks grave.

She then tried to seduce Chris but knocked him out with a paperweight, leaving him for dead, when her plan failed.

She then left Emmerdale with her baby son, James, in a helicopter. She later learned that Steve had been sentenced to 12 months in prison for the crimes shed been involved with.

Kim returned to the village in October 2018 after being released from prison. But she was arrested again and charged with dangerous driving. She was sent back to prison before her release in February 2019.

When was Kim sentenced?

Its not totally clear when Kim was actually sent to prison.

After fleeing the village, she was mentioned when she sent flowers for Seths funeral and it was believed she and James were living in Ireland.

But by 2013, Kim had been caught and jailed, while James now Jamie was sent to boarding school.
