A NEW map for Call of Duty’s hugely popular Warzone mode has been teased.

Last month’s launch of Call of Duty Cold War didn’t include the new version of Warzone.

Is Rebirth Island the home of Warzone for Cold War?

Instead, it’s arriving separately next week – and appears to have been completely remade.

Warzone is the free-to-play spin-off of Call of Duty, pitting 150 players against each other in an epic battle royale.

And a new trailer for Call of Duty Cold War Season 1 has revealed a new location called Rebirth Island.

It’s a reference to an actual island that existed in the Aral Sea, called Vozrozhdeniya Island.

Call of Duty Cold War is getting a huge update next week

The Soviet Union constructed a biological weapons testing site there in 1954, but the island has since disappeared due to the Aral Sea’s shrinkage.

It’s not confirmed that this will be the new home of Warzone, but many fans suspect it is.

We catch a small glimpse of the island in the trailer, and it certainly appears smaller than Warzone’s current Verdansk map.

We’ll find out for sure next week.

The worldwide launch of Warzone and Multiplayer Season 1 was supposed to happen on December 10.

But this week, it was revealed that the date had been pushed back to December 16 – almost a week later.

In a blog post announcing the delay, Treyarch said developers needed more time to prepare the “unprecedented amount of free content” on the way.

“We’re taking a few more days to finalise everything before unleashing this massive drop of new, free content to the community,” the firm wrote.

Season One will merge Black Ops Cold War – which hit shelves last month – with Call of Duty’s free-to-play battle royale game mode, Warzone.

Once the download drops, players’ progression and stats will synchronise across both titles.

In the blog post, Treyarch excitedly talked Season One up as the “largest free content drop in Black Ops history”.

Warzone is getting a new map and mode, while Black Ops Cold War will receive a fresh suite of multiplayer maps – including Raid from Black Ops 2.

Treyarch’s battle royal game will also benefit from the addition of more than 30 Black Ops Cold War weapons.

On top of all that, the California developer is adding new Zombies modes.

In other news, HOAR’s favourite alternative to a games console is the Oculus Quest 2 VR headset.

Grab a VR headset and you’ll be able to play the legendary Beat Saber – like Guitar Hero, but with lightsabers.

And Dell’s Alienware R10 Ryzen Edition is a gaming PC powerhouse that crushes both the new consoles.
