COMBATTING cheaters in online shooters is an ongoing battle but Activision has announced the worst punishment yet.

In short, if you’re caught cheating in Call of Duty: Vanguard, you can be banned from every CoD game in the franchise.

Call of Duty cheaters can get permanently blocked from the entire franchise

The news comes via a blog post update delving into the progress of the new Ricochet anti-cheat system.

It includes a segment on changes to the security enforcement policy for Call of Duty: Vanguard.

“Extreme or repeated violations of the security policy – such as in-game cheating – may result in a permanent suspension of all accounts.

“Additionally, any attempt to hide, disguise, or obfuscate your identity or the identity of your hardware devices may also result in a permanent suspension.

“Permanent suspensions for security infractions may now apply franchise wide, including Call of Duty: Vanguard as well as any past, present, and future titles in the Call of Duty franchise.”

In the run up to Warzone Pacific, the devs are being extra vigilant.

The enforcement process has been expanded and banwaves have been happening more often.

Coupled with the more stringent punishment for cheaters, Activision is on a mission to stamp them out altogether.

The focus has very much been on “fighting unfair play and protecting the player experience.”

And banning cheaters from the entire series of Call of Duty games is certainly one way to ensure they don’t ruin everyone else’s good time.
