A NEW Tony Hawk Pro Skater game could be landing later this year.
It would be the first game in the series in five years – but remains a closely guarded secret.
This week, pro skateboarder Jason Dill said that Activision is working on Tony Hawk Pro Skater 6.
He also teased that EA is working on a new Skate game.
The Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series is one of the most iconic franchises in video game history.
Tony’s first game launched on the original Play~Station in September 1999 – before being ported to the rival Nintendo 64.
The game was later remade in 2012 for the Xbox 360 and PS3, with updated graphics.
To date, there have been five Tony Hawk Pro Skater games.
The fourth came out in 2004, with a long gap until 2015’s Pro Skater 5.
There were also two Tony Hawk Underground games, released in 2003 and 2004.
Part of the success of the series came down to the unique punk rock soundtracks – still fondly remembered by fans.
Activision hasn’t confirmed the existence of a Tony Hawk Pro Skater 6 game.
But the game maker has revealed that new franchise titles are coming later this year.
Of course, Activision has a huge roster of game series, including Call of Duty, Spyro, Crash Bandicoot and more.
A new Pro Skater game could be a real money spinner for Activision, however.
Many of the early titles in the series received critical acclaim – although Pro Skater 5 was panned by critics.
