GIVE yourself (or someone else) the gift of gaming this Christmas with an Xbox subscription deal.

You can bag a new Xbox One S All-Digital Edition and 100 games for just 17.99 a month.

The Xbox One S is available relatively cheaply on a monthly payment plan

The deal includes the Xbox console and membership to Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

The latter gives you rolling access to more than 100 high-quality games for 24 months.

Included in the roster are Gears 5, The Outer Worlds and Minecraft.

You also get online multiplayer through Xbox Live Gold as part of the bundle too.

Gears 5 is one of the games currently available in the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate

The 24-month finance deal works like a phone contract, and is available from UK retailer GAME.

“It’s the most affordable way to buy a console and play all the latest games,” said GAME CEO Martyn Gibbs.

“It also means people can treat their loved ones to the ultimate Christmas present without breaking the bank.”

So is the deal good value?

The 17.99-a-month charge totals 431.76 over two years.

An Xbox One S All-Digital Edition usually costs 199.99. And Xbox Game Pass Ultimate costs 10.99 a month, or 263.76 over two years.

That comes to 463.75 over 24 months, so you’re saving around 31.99.

Game Pass is also arguably the cheapest way to play games for dedicated gamers.

Even three months of subscription can be far cheaper than buying a brand new game and you get Xbox Live Gold (6.99 a month) for free too.

The Xbox One S All-Digital Edition launched earlier this year for 199.99.

It is slightly cheaper than a normal Xbox, but can’t play games from discs you buy in shops.

Because it doesn’t have a disc drive, if you want to play games on it and don’t fancy a subscription service, you’ll have to either buy them from Microsoft’s store, or get digital codes from third-party resellers.

The console comes with a gargantuan 1 terabyte of storage as well as a wireless controller.

It’s worth noting that this is a finance deal, so be sure that you can afford the payments before signing up.

If you miss two consecutive payments or fail to make a full monthly payment, the interest-free arrangement ends.

That means you’ll have to pay interest on all future payments at an 18.9% variable rate.

The finance offer is provided in partnership with Klarna.
