A STAGGERING 4.5million Playstation 5 consoles were sold in the last two months of 2020.

Sony released this impressive figure alongside its latest earnings report.

The PS5 sold out almost everywhere over Christmas

The PS5 launched on November 12 and fans scrambled to get their hands on one.

This wasn’t an easy task and many are still waiting for their chance to purchase the console.

Originally, Sony had only planned on the production of five million PS5 consoles by the end of March 2021.

However, with record-breaking demand Sony is said to be increasing production and will be aiming to make and sell a lot more in that space of time.

Sony is busy producing more of the console

It now appears on track to ship 7.6 million PS5 consoles by the end of the financial year in March.

According to Gaming Bolt, Sony is maintaining its ability to produce this many consoles for its eager fans.

We’ll have to wait until next month to see if Sony manages to pull this off.

Disappointed PlayStation fans made headlines over the Christmas period when their PS5 orders were stolen or they were sent the wrong item instead.

Amazon came under fire after furious PS5 customers said they received the wrong orders on launch day – including cat food, loo roll and a foot massager.

One customer even claimed that a driver stopped outside their house, claimed to deliver the package and then drove off.

In other news, Twitch streamer Indiefoxx has been banned from the platform again over strict nudity rules.

A top Call of Duty player has quit the game because it’s “saturated with cheating”.

And, Warzone has been branded “unplayable” by furious players following the arrival of an ultra-deadly new gun.
