Restocks of the console at retailers like GAME, Argos and John Lewis have been snapped up at lightning speed, leading gamers on a wild goose chase that has rumbled on for months.

When will stores restock?
It’s all a bit up in the air at the moment.
As has been the case for months, stores are largely maintaining radio silence on restock dates to avoid a mad rush when sales re-open.

Series X sold out – what happened?
Microsoft released two new consoles – the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S – worldwide on November 10, 2020.
Stocks at retailers across the globe ran dry shortly after orders opened on launch day.
Boasting 8K graphics and a powerful processor that almost eliminates loading times, it’s no surprise the console flew from the shelves.
Stores have dropped multiple restocks in the months since, though they frequently only offer up a few hundred consoles at most.
That means stocks rarely last longer than a few minutes once word gets around on social media.
Microsoft and other gadget-makers are struggling to keep up with demand due to a worldwide shortage of microchips used to power everything from video game consoles to smart fridges and electric cars.
The shortage – triggered by manufacturing issues caused by the Covid-19 pandemic – is expected to last until at least 2022.
Unfortunately, that means gamers will likely find it incredibly difficult to get hold of the Series X and Sony’s PlayStation 5 this Christmas.
What are the Xbox Series X and Series S?
The Xbox Series X and Series S are the latest consoles from Microsoft.
They’re the follow ups to the Xbox One X and Xbox One S respectively.
The Series X is all about power and performance, and is said to be so fast that it virtually eliminates loading times.
It’s capable of processing games in glorious 8K definition and can render huge virtual worlds not seen in any console before it.
The Series S is a bit smaller and cheaper, with lower specs and no disc tray.
Gamers have to download all of the titles they want instead of buying physical copies.
Both consoles launched November 10 worldwide.
