OLLY Murs did little to quell speculation that he’s the Robin on The Masked Singer after he hung up on Mark Wright when asked to respond to claims live on-air.

The identity of the feathered singer has caused a stir on Twitter about who is under the bright and wacky costume – with some believing it could be Peter Andre, Bruno Mars or JLS’ Aston Merrygold.

Now Olly Murs has become one of the bookies favourite’s to be revealed as the Robin and yesterday was confronted by friend and broadcaster Mark Wright about the speculation on his radio show.

When asked by Mark, 33, whether he had heard of the ITV show, Olly laughed: “Yeah, it’s on before The Voice, obviously it’s the support act…”

The Heart presenter then informed Olly that he was the bookies’ favourite to be Robin and then pressed him to reveal whether he was or not.

Asked if the rumours were true, Olly replied: “Course I’m not”. To which Mark questioned: “But are you actually not?”

Trying to remain somewhat elusive, the Dance With Me Tonight hitmaker said: “Well, I mean… I can’t actually… if I was Robin I wouldn’t be able to tell you, would I?

“I’m definitely not the Robin, what else do you want me to say? Definitely not me.”

Not convinced by his answer, the former Towie star asked Olly to sing a rendition of Justin Timberlake’s Can’t Stop The Feeling, and then played the Robin’s rendition immediately afterwards.

Spooking Olly, the singer suddenly said, “Mate I’ve got to go sorry…” before feverishly hanging up the call.

The hitmaker’s abrupt departure left Mark claiming: “I think we’ve stitched him! I Think we’ve got him.

“I think we’ve cracked the Robin on The Masked Singer!”

The judging panel of Rita Ora, Jonathan Ross, Mo Gilligan and Davina McCall offered a wide range of guesses from boxer Amir Khan, fitness instructor Joe Wicks and even former EastEnders star Dean Gaffney.

After last weekend’s performance, many were convinced that Robin was actually Peter Andre due to several clues.
