RITA ORA has split from her boyfriend after their romance struggled to survive in lockdown.

I can reveal the Let You Love Me singer and French film director Romain Gavras have called time on their relationship after more than six months as a couple.

They had found it difficult to see each other due to lockdown restrictions and she has now travelled Down Under where she will stay for several months to film the Australian version of The Voice.

The split will come as a shock to fans following comments from Romain published elsewhere yesterday, in which it was claimed he had said they are still “together”.

But I’m told he was misquoted and was just trying to explain they have decided to stay friends.

A source close to the star said: “Rita and Romain have decided to end the romantic relationship for now due to the distance between them. But they will remain a close team.

“Sadly, with the lockdown restrictions, this is all just about them being apart from each other for so long, and now Rita’s work in Australia would have kept them apart.”

The couple were last pictured together in November.

Perhaps Rita, currently doing a strict 14-day quarantine in a hotel room in Sydney, will have more luck when it comes to her love life Down Under, given restrictions there have largely been eased.

Let’s just hope she doesn’t throw any welcome parties for the next two weeks.

Cardi’s a high flier

CARDI B was suspended from the ceiling for this photo, but she’s not hanging around when it comes to putting out new music.

This image is the artwork to her new single Up, which she announced yesterday ahead of its release this Friday.

The track follows last summer’s No1 smash WAP featuring rapper Megan Thee Stallion – and it seems like her second album isn’t far away either.

Cardi, who is currently in LA, took to Twitter yesterday to say she had pulled an all-nighter to work on her music.

Asked whether she’d had a good sleep, Cardi replied at 5.30am: “I haven’t slept yet. I’m in the studio.”

Her debut album Invasion Of Privacy peaked at No5 here in 2018.

But given Cardi’s success in the years since, her next record is a surefire chart-topper.

Oli gets the monk habit

BRING ME THE HORIZON frontman Oli Sykes has revealed he spiralled into a “very dark place” during lockdown last year – but was perked up by going to live with monks in Brazil.

As you do.

Oli Sykes revealed he lived with monks for a month in Brazil

The singer, whose band is at No1 in the albums chart with Post Human: Survival Horror, went on a “spiritual rehab”, staying for a month in a Hindu ashram with his wife, Brazilian model Alissa Salls.

In an exclusive chat, Oli said: “For a while I just went into a very dark place, a place that I’ve been in before, but it was the start of a beautiful thing, finding myself again.

“A couple of hours from where Alissa’s family lives there’s a Hare Krishna ashram, and they invited us to go and stay there.

“So for the best part of a month we lived without all our devices, disconnected and lived as if we were Hare Krishna.

“We woke up at five in the morning, prayed to Krishna and sang and danced, to just connect with who we are.

“These people are just the happiest people in the world, these monks.

“They’re the most positive, spiritual people, and I just thought, ‘I want a piece of that. I want to see what it’s like’.”

Oli went into rehab in 2014 for a ketamine addiction but reckons this was therapy of a different kind.

He said: “It was like a rehab, to be honest, I went to rehab a few years ago for drugs.

“But when I came here it was a detox, but from everything – emotional issues, dependency on devices, dependency on being a musician.”

But he did have to apologise, having bad-mouthed religion for years in the band’s songs.

Oli added: “I almost felt bad because I thought, if the main guru knew some of the songs I sing about God, would they want me here?”

Matt an enig-ma

THE 1975’s Matty Healy probably thought he looked edgy and cool in this photo so I’m glad his Loose Women mum knocked him down a peg or two.

The frontman shared the quirky snap of him wearing a balaclava in a music studio with the caption: “Keep your head up princess, your tiara is falling.”

And in a way only a mum can embarrass their child, Denise Welch wrote: “Wish I understood just a tiny percentage of your posts considering I made you.”

I don’t think any of us know what he is on about either, Denise.

El lets guard down

SHE donned a smart two-piece suit to play a male security guard in the music video for her latest song New Love with Silk City, and now Ellie Goulding says she’ll be doing it more regularly.

Speaking about how she relished playing the role of Alex in the video, the Burn singer said: “People know me, and have described me in the past, as being feminine and I have long, blonde hair and I like to dress up and wear dresses and be glamorous.

“But I think really the true me is . . . it must have sparked something in me, I really enjoyed it. And that is more naturally who I am.

“Maybe it will change my whole thing.”

Ellie, who yesterday announced she will be releasing her first book, called Fitter, Stronger, Calmer, in September, also hinted she would consider writing a second book about her life as a pop star.

Speaking during an interview on Gaydio, which will air later this week, Ellie added: “Some of the best parties are in LA because you look around and you’re like, ‘There is that person and there is that person’.

She enjoyed the role so much she said she could overhaul her whole image

“Then someone will give an impromptu performance. And then strippers will start walking in. I have been a good voyeur of everything going on.

“I definitely have a lot to write a good book one day.”
