A “NOTORIOUS” DRUG baron lag whose “one in a millions” daughter was stabbed to death accidentally during a knife fight has begged prison bosses to be allowed out for her funeral.

Levi Davis, 25, died a week ago during a clash between her boyfriend Jake Swords and Lucas Barnard, both 27, in Rushden, Northamptonshire.

Sun Online can now reveal that Levi’s dad, Shaun Davis, 45, has twice been jailed and is currently serving an eight-year sentence for drug dealing.

He had previously been locked up for filming himself driving at 192mph and is thought to be Britains worst ever speeding offender.

A source close to the family said: Everyone in Rushden knows of Shaun Davis. Hes notorious. The prison authorities told him of his daughters death and hes devastated.

“He wants to go to the funeral to say a final goodbye to her. Hes applied for leave on compassionate grounds but we dont know it its been granted.

LAG DAD BEGS TO BE LET OUT

Whatever hes done to land behind bars we feel sorry that he has lost his youngest daughter in such dreadful and tragic circumstances. He should be allowed out for the funeral but no doubt hell have to remain cuffed to a guard.

A family member laid flowers for Levi at the scene on his behalf.

The tribute from Davis to Levi reads: To a wonderful daughter. Truly missed. Rest in peace beautiful. Grandad will look after you now. Dad.”

Barnard was arrested on suspicion of murdering Levi near her home on Saturday night.

But police confirmed they released him with no further action, with Swords charged with attempted murder after allegedly trying to run over Mr Barnard.

It is believed Mr Barnard was defending himself against Mr Swords and that Miss Davis was accidentally killed during the confrontation.

Mum-of-two Levi died from a single stab wound to the chest.

Friends and locals touched by the tragedy have so far donated 2,635 to a Just Giving fund to give Levis daughters “a bit of a brighter Christmas.

Levi’s caged dad, who she remained close to, is unsure if he can attend her funeral despite pleading to be allowed out.

Davis was jailed for eight years and four months in January 2017 after admitting conspiracy to supply of a Class A drugs.

COCAINE GANG

He was part of a gang conspiring to provide cocaine worth nearly 15,000.

Det Insp Greg Maides said at the time: “The seizure of the cocaine was just the tip of the iceberg. This wasnt a one-off, rather an established criminal association and part of a wider organised crime group involved in drug supply throughout the east of Northamptonshire.

The fact that these men are now behind bars for a substantial amount of time has no doubt protected our communities from untold damage.

He had previously been jailed in November 2015 for two years and four months after filming himself driving at 192mph.

His eldest daughter Jordan, now 27 – Levis sister – was found guilty of encouraging dangerous driving given an 18-month conditional discharge and a two-year driving ban.

It comes after a schoolboy aged 13 quizzed over the alleged murder was released and will also face no further action.

Detectives are not believed to be looking for anyone else in connection with Levi’s killing.
