Man, 27, arrested over murder of one in a million mum, 25, is released without charge

A MAN arrested on suspicion of murdering a “one in a million” mum-of-two has been released without charge.

Levi Davis, 25, was stabbed to death yards from her home in Rushden, Northants., on Saturday night after a fight erupted.

A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder but police confirmed they have released him with no further action.

It comes after a schoolboy aged 13 quizzed over the alleged murder was released and will also face no further action.

Levi’s boyfriend Jake Swords, 27, appeared in court this week charged with attempted murder of a 27-year-old man.

He was remanded in custody and will next appear at Northampton Crown Court in January.

STABBED TO DEATH

Detective Inspector Pete Long, senior investigating officer, said: “This has been an exceptionally fast-paced investigation involving the collection of numerous pieces of evidence, crucially one of which is high-quality CCTV footage which shows the entire incident from start to finish.

“I know there is an extensive amount of interest and speculation surrounding this case and I know this decision may leave many people confused, however I want to reassure the community in Rushden that this has been an exceptionally thorough investigation involving very experienced detectives from across the region.

“Specialist officers will continue to work closely with Levi’s family at this extremely difficult time.”

Tributes were left at the spot where Levi was killed on Saturday night.

One wrote: “Rest in peace beautiful, granddad will look after you now.”

Another wrote: “Love and miss you, loads of love.”
