MEGAN McKenna says she’ll FAINT live on TV if she wins The X Factor: Celebrity.
The 27-year-old hit number two in the iTunes chart with her original song this weekend after gaining new fans.
After ditching her reality TV star past, Megan says she is now “overwhelmed” to finally be taken seriously on a show she’s dreamed of winning for years.
Speaking to The Sun Online at the Pride of Britain Awards last night, Megan let herself imagine what it would mean to be crowned the celebrity champion.
She said: “If I won it would mean everything. I don’t know what I’d do.. I’d faint. You’d see the first fainter on The X Factor.”
Megan added: “It’s been overwhelming. I can’t get over how many amazing messages I’ve been getting.
“It’s just a dream come true. I feel like finally people are taking my music seriously.
“I have been trying to crack the music industry for so long, I just need a break and I think people are getting it now.
“I can’t thank the judges enough. The whole is experience is so surreal.”
Megan wasoverwhelmed when she discovered she had won a place in the live showson Louis Walsh’s team and wept in front of the judges.
The telly star auditioned forX Factortwice in 2014 and 2015, and got to boot camp on both occasions.
Megan left The Only Way Is Essex after a year in 2017 to launch her music career. Her album, Story Of Me, was released in 2018.
The self-penned ballad This – which features on the album – climbed to number two on iTunes, overtaking Lizzo’s Good as Hell and Memories by Maroon 5.
The X Factor Celebrity continues on Saturday at 8.30pm on ITV.
