NICOLE Scherzinger and the Pussycat Dolls have come under fire from mums for turning X Factor: Celebrity into what one branded “a strip club”.

Some felt the group’s raunchy routine was unsuitable for before the watershed – but many defended the “amazing” performance, insisting: “Just because they dress like that, doesn’t mean they don’t have class.”

Some parents suggested the Pussycat Dolls’ performance wasn’t appropriate for before 9pm

One mum wrote: “Highly inappropriate content for this time of the evening. Pussycat dolls look like they belong in a strip club, not for prime time family viewing. Not good roll models for little girls.”

Another viewer said: “Please remember kids watch this, being so sexually provocative and flaunting sex on prime time tv isnt so great .”

A third spoke about their “S&M dance moves” saying: “That was an absolutely disgraceful spectacle of the pussycat dolls and before the watershed, with kids watching!

“Their excessively revealing and totally inappropriate outfits and S&M style dance moves wouldnt have been out of place on an adult channel!”

One suggested they wouldn’t have looked out of place on an ‘adult channel’

The Pussycat Dolls were reunited on X Factor: Celebrity last night

One viewer said they were ‘flaunting sex on prime time TV’
But another said it was no more flesh than you’d see at a beach

However, many felt the fuss was overblown, branding the group’s comeback performance “sensational” and insisting you’d see more flesh at your average beach.

One said: “Mothers keep complaining about how their little kids saw The Pussycat Dolls perform in these outfits, I hope they never go to a beach on a hot summer day.”

Others raved: “Sorry but the pussycat dolls were AMAZING” and: “Best thing Ive ever seen on X Factor is the the Pussycat Dolls. Sweet baby Jesus .”

One joked about the outrage, tweeting: “Pussycat dolls were disgusting on the X factor, its a family show ffs, anyone know what time the repeats on ??????”

Nicole dazzled fans in a raunchy outfit during the big reunion

Kimberley Wyatt and Jessica Sutta in the studio after the show

The performance saw judge Nicole, 41, stealing the show in a PVC bikini with sheer bodysuit, while Ashley Roberts, 38, Kimberly Wyatt, 37, Carmit Bachar, 45, and Jessica Sutta, 37, looking just as sexy.

Smoke guns fired and lasers lit up the stage as they danced to Buttons, When I Grow Up and Don’t Cha, before being joined by a troupe of male back-up dancers.

The US pop band, whose hits include Don’t Cha and Buttons, went their separate ways in 2010 amid reports of tensions between the six members.

X Factor: Celebrity saw an overcome Megan McKenna crowned the winner of the show, beating Jenny Ryan and Max & Harvey.
