It comes after the 54-year-old former footballer begged Simon Cowell to let him leave the competition so 31-year-oldKevin HcHale could carry on.

Speaking on This Morning earlier this week, Vinnie told Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford why he wanted to go in Kevin’s place when they were both in the bottom two.

Vinnie had previously said he wanted to go in Kevin’s place after the Glee star was booted from the show

He explained: “Kevin is such a fantastic singer, it would be such a shame for someone like me to go forward, Captain Chaos, and in this having fun when this could be a massive impact as a singer.”

Ruth asked: “So you genuinely meant it?” He replied: “100 per cent, 100 per cent.”

Despite pleading with the X Factor boss to let him leave the show, the actor said he wants to go on and win it to make his wife proud.

He said: “I do now and I’ve got obligations. My wife had a heart transplant at 21 at Harefield Hospital.

“I’m obligated to win as much money going forward with this. If there’s a record contract, all proceeds will go to them and it will make everybody even more happy.”

Vinnie also opened up about the struggles of losing his wife Tanya, whodied after a six-year battle with cancerat home in LA in July aged 53.

Speaking about Simon Cowell, he said: “He phoned me in Los Angeles and said he wanted me to come on the show. Tanya was a big fan of the show and wanted me to do it.”
