The PM said yesterday that he will speak at the weekend about the future measures, with the hope of changing some as early as Monday.
The Government will continue getting all the latest scientific information over the weekend before making any tweaks.
Another Cabinet meeting may also take place beforehand.
It means any changes won’t take place until after tomorrow’s Bank Holiday.
The PM’s address is expected to be the form of a video message – similar to the one he released when he announced the lockdown on March 23.
And he will give a statement to the House of Commons on Monday too.
No10 said this afternoon that Boris had told the Cabinet: “We are not going to do anything that risks a second peak.
“We will advance with maximum caution in order to protect the NHS and to save lives.
“We will be guided at every step by the science and the data.
“And we will closely track the impact of any easing of the social distancing measures and we will not hesitate to tighten the rules if required.”
Downing Street also warned that any changing of lockdown measures next week would be “very limited”.
Dominic Raab is expected to reveal at tonight’s press conference that nothing will change in the next few days, but the lockdown measures will formally be extended.
And he will tip the public to watch Boris Johnson’s address for new information.
For this weekend, nothing will change, however.
A spokesperson said today: “There is no change to the advice, we are asking people to stay at home in order to stop the spread of the virus”.
HOAR revealed today that Brits are set to be told they can go out to exercise as much as they want, and to be allowed to go to sunbathe in parks from next week.
The PM could unveil a new traffic light system to help ease the lockdown – with green showing measures which can be taken, amber showing actions they should take care on, and red for activities they should still avoid.
Scientists said in documents revealed yesterday that such a system would be helpful for conveying new messages to the public.
But this afternoon Scotland’s First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said that the controls will continue to stay strict north of the border.
She confirmed another three weeks of lockdown, and insisted it was too soon to consider any measures to be eased.
And Wales – which also has a higher rate of infection than England – will also stick closely to the lockdown rules.
It means the measures will likely be different from next week in England – compared to Scotland and Wales, and will risk confusing the public.
The Mail on Sunday’s Harry Cole reported yesterday that Public Health England is ordering all “Stay Home” messaging to be taken down by Saturday night.
It fuelled speculation that the public will get a new message from the PM on Sunday.
A leaked message said: “Please ensure that all Stay Home messaging is removed from websites, social media and any other available channels.
“As the PM is expected to set out a road map on how the UK will move out of the lockdown on Sunday, we anticipate that we will shortly transition to a new phase of the campaign.”
