EMOTIONS run high in Emmerdale as Chas Dingle struggles to cope with the arrival of a heart-breaking anniversary.
The pub landlady attempts to fight her overwhelming sadness as she reveals all to Faith and Liv.
Chas chats to the pair and confesses it’s the anniversary of her daughter Grace’s death the next day.
Chas and Paddy’s daughter Grace was born in 2018, but lived only for a few minutes.
During her 20-week scan Chas was told her daughter was suffering from the condition bilateral renal agenesis – when a baby has no kidneys and underdeveloped lungs.
Despite this Chas continued with the pregnancy, although Grace sadly passed away 30 minutes after being born.
Struggling with memories of the day, Chas reaches out to Faith and Liv for comfort.
Chas and Paddy went on to have their second daughter together – Eve – a year later.
The anniversary comes as Chas and her business partner Marlon struggle with The Woolpack’s finances.
She’s also still reeling from the discovery that Cain was behind the pub’s recent burglary which left Charity hospitalised.
“Just how stupid can you be,” thundered Chas at Cain.
“Like I need help like that. You lied to my face. We’re all getting banged up if this ends badly.
“I am looking at insurance fraud.”
